Albert2 - WIP by jjkiefer Albert2 - WIP by jjkiefer
Started working on the beard and mustache more. It will probably take a couple more layers on the beard to get it the way I would like and more detailing all around. Thanks for watching and the wonderful comments!

Thank you. Just an eraser. I cut the tip of it of to get real fine edges.

It takes a lot of photos to get it to work right. I just checked out how many I have for the current WIP I'm working on and it appears I have enough to make one when done. Thanks again. Cheers!

Thanks you, Michael. It's becoming quite a challenge to get the facial hair textures the way I want. Cheers!

Really? I say that because I'm really fighting to get the right texture for the mustache and beard. Thank you, that's very encouraging to know. Cheers! Jim

This is gorgeous, what medium are you using?

Thank you! It's a 12" x 16" 2B mechanical pencil drawing on Canson plate smooth bristol paper. I've used several different types of erasers.

Ooh~ very nice! :] I'm a big fan of smooth bristol paper, and I love seeing people use the full value range of 2B pencils. :]

Thanks! I'll most-likely use 4B before I finish. Photoshop tends to make the darks look darker than they actually are. The midtones are very accurate but the darks are a little too dark.

Yeah, computers tend to exaggerate values like that, despite that the drawing is gorgeous!

Thank you! Thanks for all the faves and watch. Looks like you're off to a good start getting back into drawing. I gave it up for 20 years to raise my two kids so I know what it's like. I've been back at it for about 6 or 7 years now. Thanks again! Jim
